ALS Property Associates, Inc Case Studies: Kalamazoo Michigan Radon Mitigation
Challenge
Luke called ALS Property Associates, Inc. because he recently purchased a home with really high radon levels. The challenge on this radon mitigation was the large dirt floor crawlspace along with the concrete slab portion of the basement. The radon levels were above 10 pCi/L.
Solution
ALS Property Associates, Inc installed a combination radon depressurization system. The team installed a CleanSpace barrier throughout encapsulation the crawlspace and sealing air tight to the foundation walls. They then installed a radon reduction system with a Festa Legend radon fan, schedule 40 piping and connected both the encapsulated crawlspace and the concrete slab to the radon system. This created negative pressure under both the crawl and basement slab effectively lowering the radon to much safer levels. The post mitigation test was 0.5 pCi/L and was a huge success.
